- ARTEMESIA GENTILESCHI (July 8, 1593 – c. 1656), who was an Italian Baroque painter considered among the most accomplished seventeenth-century artists, initially working in the style of Caravaggio.


- MARY EDMONIA LEWIS, aka "Wildfire" (July 4, 1844 – September 17, 1907), who was the first African-American and Native American sculptor to achieve national and then international prominence.

- ANNA MARY ROBERTSON MOSES, aka Grandma Moses, (September 7, 1860 – December 13, 1961), who was an American folk artist who gained popularity during the 1950s.
